We are hosting a presentation by author David Kenneth Garczynski about the disappearance of HogIsland. Hog Island was a barrier island off the coast of Far Rockaway before it disappeared. The author published his article in The New Yorker on the 10th anniversary of Superstorm Sandy, completing his research in our Archives using an 1879 T-Sheet (Map) from our collection. Following the presentation, there will be an informal chat about Superstorm Sandy.
